PROLINTAS SHINES AT FORWARD FASTER SUSTAINABILITY AWARDS 2023, BAGS 3 AWARDS WITH PRESTIGIOUS CEO ACCOLADE
Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn. Bhd. (PROLINTAS) bagged three distinguished accolades at the esteemed Forward Faster Sustainability Awards 2023 convened by the UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB) held at Parkroyal Hotel on 24 November 2023.
Group Chief Executive Officer of PROLINTAS, Dato’ Mohammad Azlan Abdullah was presented with Forward Faster CEO Award. This achievement celebrates his strategic approach for business with robust governance, environmental mindfulness, and social responsibility.
“This award is a testament to PROLINTAS’s steadfast resolve in championing progressive infrastructure development. We are deeply committed to not just growing our enterprise but doing so in a way that nurtures and protects the people and environment around us,” he affirmed.
Meanwhile, PROLINTAS also secured the Living Wage Award, highlighting the company’s principled stance on equitable remuneration, ensuring every employee receives a just and liveable wage. PROLINTAS has embraced a comprehensive approach to employee development and welfare which integrates advancing progressive living wage system by offering wages above market standards.
In a strategic alliance with the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), PROLINTAS was lauded with the Partnership for The Goals Recognition Award. This accolade acknowledges its joint endeavour to meticulously evaluate the greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint of business and highway operations, laying the groundwork for a net-zero carbon ambition by 2050.
Embracing renewable energy and enhancing efficiency, the organisation is leading the transition to more effective energy technologies, including in its fleet management, PROLINTAS sets to reduce 30% emissions by 2030, benchmarking against its 2019 metrics. The company is actively engaged in outlining its Net-Zero Pathway, an ongoing endeavour to map out a sustainable and environmentally responsible future.
PROLINTAS has been at the forefront of integrating sustainability into its strategic framework. This holistic approach is exemplified by the organisation’s commitment, as demonstrated in its inaugural voluntary Sustainability Report in 2021, succeeded by the 2022 edition, and the forthcoming third edition signifies a steadfast dedication to transparency and sustainable development.
Some of its unwavering commitments to integrate sustainability into its business strategy include the adoption of sustainable materials in the construction of its highways, the use of Industrialized Building System (IBS) for highway structural components, installation of LED street lightings, water conservation through stormwater management system, transforming transit routes into communal congregating spots, applying Smart Surveillance Systems (S3) for highway safety and emergency responsiveness as well as its ongoing and comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
